The e-commerce giants in India, Amazon and Flipkart,
launched one day delivery which is considered as a major step in the
development of business. Considering the difficulties and challenges, this
operation would be implemented in selected region and then it may be expanded
across various other areas.

Arch rivals in Indian e-biz |
Amazon offers this service only to items which are under “Fulfilled by Amazon” Service.
However, this service is limited and doesn't support “large and heavy items” which
are exceptions. It covers 6 major cities in India namely Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore,
Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune. It costs Rs 99 for single day shipping and Rs 79
for two day shipping.
Flipkart, which is considered as the rival for Amazon, implemented
the same in the name of “In-a-day Guarantee”
service. Unlike Amazon, there are no exceptions as the customer can order any item.
As of now, only the retailer “WS Retail”
offers this service.
Flipkart covers 7 major cities namely Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi,
Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida and Pune. With an additional charge of Rs 90 per item,
customers have to place orders before 3PM. If order undelivered before
stipulated time, Rs 90 will be credited in to customers Flipkart Wallet which can be used later.
So a healthy rivalry on cards and can expect lot of
interesting ideas in near future!!
