How it feels if a social networking service is available at free of cost for
lifetime?? Yes, the micro blogging giant Twitter going to do that!
Twitter working closely with a Singapore based startup U2opia Mobile which helps users
to access it even without data connection.
The main area of focus is to attract emerging market customers.
Since it doesn’t need Internet, the users have to enter a code manually on
their mobile phone to get the feed on trending topics. This code is called Unstructured Supplementary Service Data
(USSD) and the feeds are limited only to texts. Rich media contents such as Pictures,
Videos and other related graphics are not allowed.
U2opia Mobile already has notable associations with big
techies such as Facebook and Google (Gtalk) with an estimated 11 million users
using its Fonetwish service.
If everything goes well and good, twitter service will be
launched in the first quarter of 2014.
