Things you should know in Amazon Fire Smartphone

The world’s biggest e-commerce giant Amazon is all set for a roller coaster ride with their new line of business expansion ‘Smartphones’. Yes…. Amazon not only sells smartphones but it makes one by itself! Let me take a quick reference to Kindle tablet which was introduced three years ago and it is an instant hit. Can Amazon replicate and taste same level of success?

Amazon Fire Smartphone features

The specification call outs are simply mind blowing and it is in the range of other best smartphones like Apple’s iPhone 5s/5c and Samsung’s Galaxy series S5. Adding on top of that, Amazon delivers some exceptional features which are first of its kind in smartphones.

Dynamic Perspective
Firefly Technology
Mayday

The Dynamic Perspective is a sensor system which responds with respect to how the user hold, view and move the phone. The 3D like feature may go either way – Success or Disastrous. Let’s be very hopeful that it works for all users! Because Amazon have invested a lot on this and making the impossible as possible.
It could be a giant leap in the history of Smartphone if this technology serves its purpose at its best. For this sole reason, the phone is designed with four front facing cameras each equipped with an infrared light for facial recognition.

In Firefly Technology is yet another signature feature of Fire phone. The device comes with handy Firefly button which on pressing instantly identifies and completes the action on Phone numbers, Web address, Music etc.
Take a photo (Advertisements, Business cards, Posters) from the smartphone and the phone will automatically identifies the contact information and saves into the address book. Cool stuff right? :)

The Mayday feature is something incomparable to any other smartphone and I personally feel it gives the edge over other smartphone manufactures whose devices are already rolled out in the market. Amazon provides free, live, on-device tech support for the customers.
Amazon is providing one touch access to its customer support service with Fire phone. On pressing the button, Amazon Expert will appear live on the screen to assist the users who faces issues. In this case, the users can see the experts but not otherwise. The best thing about Mayday feature is, the response time is less than 15 seconds!! So no need to wait in line or fixing any prior appointments to talk with the experts.

Also shortcuts are used single handedly with tilt, swivel and peek movements. One more interesting feature is ‘Auto-Scroll’ where the users can read long web pages or a novel without making any contact with the screen!

The Fire phone uses Fire OS which is a sort of Android based. Fire OS is a derivative from Android since it is an open source software. So technically, there are similarities in the platform which is a big advantage for Amazon since it attracts the Android developers to try a hand on Fire OS as well with not much difference.

The camera system is very fascinating with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 1080 Full HD video and free unlimited cloud storage. The device comes with a great number of handy applications which can be downloaded in ‘Amazon Appstore’.

Important Technical Details:
Processor: 2.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU
Display: 4.7" HD LCD display, with 1280 x 720 resolution at 315 ppi
RAM:  2GB
Camera: 13 MP rear-facing camera; 2.1 MP front-facing camera
OS: Fire OS 3.5.0
Storage: 32 GB or 64 GB
Battery: 2400mAh
Video recording: 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps

With all these technological enhancements at its best, Amazon’s ambitious step could just soar above the competition if it is a hit or it could go down in flames if is not received well by the users.

Fingers crossed :)
