“If Cricket is a Religion, then Sachin is God”
Yes… People started to love the Sport called Cricket because of an individual named “Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar”. Unlikely as anyone, that’s the kind of influence he has established on the game.
Let me rewind a little bit. At the age of sweet 16, anybody
in the world wouldn’t like to take-up a profession seriously. But Sachin did
only because he was very passionate about the game. To be frank, at 16, really I
don’t know the meaning of profession. I was hardly 81 days old when the little master
walked down the pitch and took guard for the first time ever in International
Cricket to face against one of the world’s lethal Pakistani pace attack.
Since his debut in 1989, there is no looking back for the
little master. He went on to score pile of runs in one day and 5 day games
against all countries across the world. He haunted the world’s best bowlers as
no one ever did. May be, no one can ever do again…
The maturity, the dedication and the perseverance he has
shown on and off field is something which every youngster has to look upon.
Although his fame touched the sky, his feet remained grounded as solid as
anything. That’s the greatest quality of the humblest player.
He shattered everything that was written in the record books
and scripted a lot more to his name. He was like a super hero of World Cricket
because of the fact that he achieved few things which was meant to be impossible.
Hundreds of Hundred is one such example. Eventually, he conquered everything in
the world of Cricket.
Sachin influences everybody in the world who is in love with
the game. His contribution to Cricket is so significant and he is one such
player in the history who brings such a charm and charisma to the game.
Ideally, everyone in this world would have shed a drop a
tear during his farewell speech. For a persona like this, any adjective or
superlative won’t be suffice. Even “God” seems to be a normal word when we say
along with Sachin Tendulkar!
Finally, the running between 22 yards for 24 years stopped.
The run meter ceased. Now he have left legacy behind for the other cricketers
to follow and to conquer.
Sachin is an idol and a genuine national treasure. Sachin is
not a gift to Cricket. Rather, he himself is a gift to the world. And I mean
it.
#ThankYouSachin
Jai Hind.
